Identity

History
Cornerstone Academy was founded in 1994 in Chicago's Austin neighborhood by members of LaSalle Street Church with help from Circle Urban Ministries and Rock of Our Salvation Church. This was in response to the increasing number of low-moderate income students who were dropping out of area high schools each year. Our calling was then - and still is - to support and educate Chicago students whose academic needs are not being met by larger, traditional schools and whose talents are in danger of being wasted.

Funding
Cornerstone Academy is an independent, not-for-profit organization. Our operations are funded by the donations of individuals, corporations, churches and foundations. If you would like to donate visit the Get Involved page. You can also download our Annual Report (2008) and Financial Report (2008).

Location

The Academy is an official Ministry Partner of LaSalle Street Church. We are housed in Cornerstone Center, a modern day "settlement house" owned and administered by LSC, along with several other LSC Ministry Partners and many additional not-for-profit organizations.

Mission
Cornerstone Academy exists to provide students with an intentionally small Christian high school experience that is personalized, comprehensive, and leads toward a diploma, a Christian moral code, and tools for self-sufficiency.
